A friend is someone who is there for you when he'd rather be anywhere else.

Two are better than one; because they have a good reward for their labour. For if they fall, the one will lift up his fellow: but woe to him that is alone when he falleth; for he hath not another to help him up.

Though our communication wanes at times of absence, I'm aware of a strength that emanates in the background.

Friend - a person known well to another and regarded with liking, affection and loyalty.

Grief can take care of itself, but to get the full value of joy you must have somebody to divide it with.
